Colchester is the first English Village laid out in Upper Canada west of Niagara.


The 0.5km walking tour will begin and end at the Old Schoolhouse (1881), 195 Bagot St., Colchester, making stops at Christ Church, Anglican (1819), with the Woodmen Hall addition, the cemetery with the replica chapel and manse.


Local tour hosts, with historical visitors, will share the importance of this community space for the people of the neighborhood.  Stops along the route will share gathered information gleaned from family histories of those that have lived here for generations.


The old schoolhouse is currently being preserved for today and future generations through the work of Heritage Colchester.
