About the event

Jane's Talk: Establishing Climate Accountability in Windsor Host: Derek Coronado, Frank Butler (Citizens Environment Alliance)

Contact host: derek@citizensenvironmentalliance.org

Canadian municipalities are crucial jurisdictions in federal and provincial strategies to advance climate action. Cities are where 80% of Canadians live and cities are responsible for roughly half of Canada's emissions. Each city has its own unique challenges and advantages, but cities also share a number of similar challenges and methods when engaging in climate action.

In order for any municipality to implement prompt and lasting climate action, it needs to be accountable. Various dimensions of accountability will be presented that can help Windsor advance climate action.
