Jane's Walk: Led by the Essex County Black Historical Research Society, this tour will explore some of the sites important to the Black community of Windsor including commemorative public art. Portions of the McDougall Street Corridor south of Wyandotte Street will be visited.

Before municipal and federal urban renewal policies destroyed Windsor's Black neighbourhood and business district with its historic churches, social halls, and multigenerational homes in the mid-twentieth century, the McDougall Street Corridor was the beating heart of Windsor's Black Canadian community. Come and learn about some of the people, places, organizations, and events that made the McDougall Street Corridor such a fascinating place.




Event location: The walk will start and end at Alton C. Parker Park, 400 Brodhead Street, Windsor
