About the Walk:
Without Mill Creek, Kingsville would never have grown into the town it is today. This tour takes participants back to the earliest settlement of Kingsville, through the town's industrialization in the 19th century, to the Progressive Era in the early 20th century --- with Mill Creek at the centre.
From Kingsville's years as frontier settlement to a logging community, manufacturing hub, and tourist destination, the town's uses (and abuses) of Mill Creek have been as varied as the town itself. In addition to history, the tour will also touch on the geography of Mill Creek, including how the waterway has changed over the past two hundred and fifty years, and the creek's role within the region's natural environment.
Please note that about half of the walk will follow a maintained dirt trail.
