Learn about the Underground Railroad history of Windsor-Essex through a narrated walk around the Tower of Freedom Monument. Hear the stories of freedom seekers, operatives, and abolitionists in our region, local Black pioneer communities, and the genesis of the monument itself.


The walk is appropriate for anyone 9 or over.


About the host:

Irene Moore Davis is an educator, historian, writer, podcaster, and activist who speaks and writes frequently about equity, diversity, inclusion, and African Canadian history. She fulfills a variety of community roles including President of the Essex County Black Historical Research Society.
